Premier Deer Farm was one of the oldest sheep farming properties in Boyup Brook. We purchased 300 acres of the property in 1982 and ran it in conjunction with a farm merchandise store.  By 1986 we were sufficiently disillusioned with the wool and prime lamb industries to seriously look at diversification.  Our first tentative steps were to fence 8 acres and purchase 7 deer.  That was the beginning of a huge learning curve and a love affair with deer that will last for our lifetimes. The ensuing years have seen us almost double our land holding and fence over 70% of it for deer.

 Mark was an active committee member of the then Deer Farmers Federation of Australia, WA Branch, and served as President in 1992.  Today Mark is again an active committee member of the Deer Industry Association of Australia, WA Branch. Mark is always willing to help any existing or prospective members of our industry and is fully committed to promoting profitability and satisfaction for all deer farmers, as well as totally embracing all aspects of deer welfare issues.

We now have been blessed with a growing family of four children, and our combined futures depend on the success of our planning and labour.
